Campaigns Fund Fair Pay The government's unfunded 2.8% pay offer is a threat to children's education. We must make a success of our preliminary online ballot. We know that things are difficult in schools, we hear from educators that resources are tighter than ever, and we are supporting increasing numbers of educators through redundancy processes.

All of these things have a direct impact on the education that you can provide to the children and young people you work with. The government's recommendation of a below inflation pay rise of 2.8% does nothing to achieve the pay restoration that we fought for in 2023. We know that pay is only part of the problem; workload is important too; however, we also know it contributes to the recruitment and retention crisis that we are facing. This is why we are launching a prelimary online ballot.

We want to know if you accept the government's offer of a 2.8% unfunded pay rise. We want you to discuss within your schools and with colleagues about the impact of a further squeeze on stretched budgets, and we want you to vote in our online ballot to either accept or reject the offer. Turnout is really important, regardless of the direction. If we can ensure a high turnout, it sends a really clear message; the educators, we represent are watching and are engaged!
